Move over Batmobile this one’s pure Kiwi ingenuity.
Oamaru engineer Josh Lee has spent the past four years designing and building his own car from the ground up in his home workshop.
Powered by a turbocharged Honda K20 engine and a custom TurboCare turbo, the lightweight open-top speedster makes an impressive 386hp on just 11psi, detuned for reliability. With the car weighing only 900kg, it’s one seriously quick machine.
Josh’s background in engineering has been key to bringing this project to life. He modelled and validated every component, combining precision with creativity to deliver a car that performs as good as it looks.
“It’s set up kinda like a race car but with a few more luxuries for being nice on the road. It’s really just to have some fun,” Josh says.
From concept to completion, every detail has been carefully thought through a perfect example of what can be achieved when passion and engineering meet performance.
We’re proud to support builds like Josh’s and to see TurboCare NZ technology driving home-grown innovation on New Zealand roads.
